JULY 4 IN TERRELL COUNTY

2004 Tentative Schedule

Friday, July 2   Apart from all the excitement of family and friends arriving in Sanderson for reunions, the Arts & Education Allance will sponsor a TALENT SHOW in the evening. This will be held opposite the Court House, Hackberry Street, Sanderson.
Saturday, July 3 10 a.m. Car Show - The Terrell County Car Club will once again hold their annual car show at the front of the Court House. The cars will be available for viewing most of the day.
  11:30 a.m. Parade on Main Street - The parade starts at the Sanderson State Bank. The line-up starts around 10:30 if you are interested in participating in the much-loved event.
  12 noon What is July 4 without the traditional BBQ at the American Legion Hall? Come on down and meet up with family and friends and enjoy the BBQ, beans, potato salad and wonderful cakes and wash it down with a nice cold glass of ice tea.
  1:30 p.m. -> The Old Timers Reunion will be held on the Court House lawn and hosted by the Historical Commission. During this time there will be lots of things to do around the Court House with children's events, booths and displays.
  4 p.m. Icecream Contest! The annual Culture Club Ice Cream Contest begins. Be prepared to sample some of the best ice cream around and remember, you don't have to restrict yourself to just one flavor!
  9:00 p.m. The free Street Dance and associated fire-works are held between the high school and Court House. The dance continues until 1 a.m.
Sunday, July 4   After church services, and "All-Faith" picnic will be held at Bicentennial Park. Bring a covered dish.
