Water is the most important thing to the life of Sanderson.

The Terrell County Water control and Improvement District is responsible for delivering water to the people of Sanderson and in preserving and protecting the water sources.

The Water District pumps over 40 million gallons of water per year from a number of deep wells located to the west of town. Our water by government test is some of the purest in the state of Texas. A 210,000 gallon storage tank with the name "SANDERSON" is a local landmark.

The Water District also maintains the waste disposal facilities located several miles east of town in Sanderson Canyon.
