The Terrell County Fair has a long and proud tradition of supporting the youth of Terrell County. The fair allows our children to show case their animal projects. Members of the community also participate in the Fair with their creative abilities in quilting, baking, photography, and stock show.
This is the fourth year that the Fair Association is holding our Barbeque lunch, Auction and Dance in the County Fair Hall. Many of you know that we purchased the old VFW Hall in July 2002. Work continues on getting the building refurbished. In the last several years we added a stove, refrigerator; hot water heater, replaced the roof and counter tops in the kitchen and serving bar. Plans are being made to replace the ceiling, refinish the floors and add ventilation. Lots of hard work by many volunteers has gone into this effort. Plaques indicating the donor will be placed in the Fair Hall for display and at a later date plaques will be displayed on each pens with the name of donors contributing to the purchase of the pens.
The Terrell County Fair gives our community a chance to come together to display our varied talents, to visit with neighbors, enjoy some great barbeque, and dance to good ole country music. By supporting the efforts of our youth, we build upon the great heritage and traditions of Terrell County.
The fair would not be possible without the dedication and determination of our members, and many others in the community who have generously donated their time, skills, and resources. To all of you who have helped to make this year's fair a reality, we offer a big THANK YOU!
To all of you from Sanderson and surrounding areas, thank you for coming to the Fair, and we sincerely hope you all have a great time!
